This beautiful woman on the picture is Maryam. She finished Nurse School and gave support and care for the sick people at intensive care. She had a bright future ahead of her. That was until July of 2008, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to her liver and lymph nodes. She’s had multiple chemo treatments and operations in order for her to get cured. Unfortunately she had a relapse in 2009, where the cancer had spread to her lungs. She’s had chemo therapy in order to extend her life to find other treatments. Sadly, her last scan in January 2012 showed that the cancer continued to spread, but that the only option of treatment in Denmark was still chemotherapy, so that it will keep the cancer under control.
Thomas Vogl, a professor in Frankfurt, Germany offered Maryam chemotherapy where it directly kills the tumours, but the doctors here in Denmark don’t want to refer her outside the Danish health system as long as they have the chemo treatment available. Basically the chemo can’t cure in her lungs, it only holds the cancer away from spreading for a while and as long she stops the chemo treatment to give her body a break, the cancer continues to spread. Obviously, she can’t get the systemic chemo very long so she needs another approach to get cure free.
The treatment in Frankfurt, Germany is needed to be giving over multiply intervals so therefore, she needs about 500,000 DKKR (about 88,000 dollars) to cover up all expenses.
As of right now people over in Denmark managed to donate 209,000 DKKR, in the matter of a few months but there’s still long way ahead. For Maryam to continue the process of getting cure free, we need to donate until she reach the goal of 500,000 DKKR.So PLEASE it will help her A LOT if you had 3 minutes to spear to donate some money. It doesn’t matter how much, every sum helps.
